PART 1: MIX APPLICATION

At the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, students can go through the Manoa International Exchange (MIX) Program or the Study Abroad Center (SAC). MIX is the only program that offers a semester exchange in Korea, whereas SAC only has summer programs (as of Fall 2024). To learn more about the differences between the two programs, visit here.

💐 MIX Application & Next Steps

- View the application details here

- For MIX, you need to apply a year in advance of the semester you would like to go abroad (i.e. I applied in Fall 2023 to go abroad in Fall 2024).

Consists of a Google Form of various short questions, as well as an academic Letter of Recommendation, which should be someone whose class you took at UHM (professor, TA, graduate assistant, etc.)
MIX will send you a nomination email, containing details of which partner university you were nominated for and assignments to do
- Assignments include the MIX nomination form (to accept your spot), Canvas online orientation, and Welcome Orientation (over Zoom)
After you complete the Canvas orientation, you will receive a Pre-Departure Checklist
- Make sure to read each email carefully because there are quite a few documents and tasks to complete by specific deadlines
In addition, you will receive a "Next Steps" email from MIX and your nominated university will send you the application to apply to the school
